MRS. ONANUGA, TOYIN OLAMIDE –DIRECTOR, PUBLIC SERVICE STANDARD AND PERFORMANCE (PSSP)

Mrs. Toyin Olamide Onanuga was born on the 28th March, 1962 at Surulere. She attended Methodist Primary School, Surulere, Lagos between 1968 and 1973; New Era Girls’ Secondary School, Surulere Lagos between 1974 and1979; the Federal School of Arts & Science, V/ Island, Lagos from1979 to198; and the University of Ife, Ile-Ife, Osun State now Obafemi Awolowo University bewteen1981 and1985 from where she obtained the Bachelor of Arts Degree (English Studies).

She started her Civil Service career on November 26, 2002 when she was employed as a Senior Administrative & Human Resource Officer and was deployed to the then Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives. She has since worked at the Civil Service Commission; Office of the Chief of Staff; Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs; Office of the Deputy Governor; and the Ministry of Women Affairs & Poverty Alleviation before her deployment to the Office of the Head of Service, Public Service Office as the Director, Public Service Standard and Performance.

 

She has attended many courses and workshops such as One-week Advanced Training Workshop on Functional Communication and Recent Techniques in Speech Writing/Official Writing and Memo Presentation (University of Ibadan, 2003); 5-Day Course on Women Empowerment {MBS 16}(Lagos State Public Service Staff Development Centre; 2004); Workshop on Achieving Peak Performance through Leadership and Motivation(Resource Development Forum Ltd; 2007);  3-Day National Workshop on Quality Control/Assurance in Civil Engineering Projects(Nigerian Society of Engineers, Ibadan Branch; 2009); 3-Day Workshop on Effective Project Management (Ashford and McGuire Consulting; 2009); 3-Day Workshop on Excellence in Leadership and Stress Management (Richmond Johnson Academy (UK) 2009); 3-Day Training Programme on Target Setting and Performance Management (Lateral Techniques; 2010); Workshop on Coaching and Mentoring: Veritable Tools for Succession Planning (Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria; 2010); 3-Day Course on Human Resource Management (Lagos State Public Service Staff Development Centre; 2011); 2-Day Training Programme on ICT for Service Delivery(Viewpoint Educational Services Ltd; 2012); and a 3-Day Workshop on White Paper, Report and Speech Writing (Ministry of Establishments and Training; 2014).

Some special assignments and achievements of Mrs. Onanuga include initiating an annual One-day re-orientation programme for Students on IT/SIWES programme in the State Public Service; initiating the issuance of Letters of Commendation to deserving Officers as a way of motivating conscientious, hardworking and efficient Public Servants in the State Public Service; re-casting of the Vision Statement for the Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation; initiating the Skill Acquisition Graduates Entrepreneurial (S.A.G.E) Summit in the Ministry of Women Affairs & Poverty Alleviation; serving as Secretary to the Committee on the review the 2011 Amendment to the Law to provide for the Establishment of the Lagos State Library Board; serving as a facilitator at an In-house Training on Project Implementation and Evaluation by the Ministry of Economic Planning and Budget; participating in the coordination of a Programme tagged “HE,DG Reads” in collaboration with an NGO (Ecole de Dessin) to mark the World Literacy Day in September, 2011 and initiating the landscaping of the frontage of the Lagos State Agriculture Development Authority (LSADA) in line with the Greening Policy of the Lagos State Government in 2007.

Mrs. Toyin Olamide Onanuga is a member of the Nigerian Institute of Management and likes writing, mentoring and listening to good music.

She is happily married with children.
