Mrs. Fiyinfoluwa Adenike OGUNBANKE was born on the 1st day of   July in 1958 to the Kosoko-King family of Lagos Island. A holder of a first degree from the University of Ilorin, a post-graduate diploma as well as a Master’s degrees in Development Administration and Management from the University of Manchester, United Kingdom, Ogunbanke commenced her public service career in the Lagos State Civil Service in September 1983.

In her quest to expand her horizon, Fiyinfoluwa Adenike OGUNBANKE sought and obtained admission to study for a Bachelor of Law degree from the Lagos State University and today, she is a Barrister at Law as certified by the Nigerian Law School.  This is in addition to several other certifications in Project Management, Procurement, Monitoring and Evaluation amongst others that were obtained from globally recognised training institutions over the course of her public service career.

A versatile, creative and very hard working Officer, OGUNBANKE distinguished herself in different capacities over the years some of which include serving as Secretary, Lagos State Economic Summit Group (2000-2001); Secretary, Executive Council Retreat (2000-2001); Coordinator, State Committee on National Award on Best Practices at which the State won the 1st, 2nd & 3rd prizes (2002); Project Coordinator, Lagos Metropolitan Development and Governance Project  (2005-2006); Executive Secretary, Eredo Local Council Development Area (August 2008); Member, Lagos State Economic Empowerment and Development Strategy (LASEEDS) Committee; and Director, Projects Implementation & Monitoring Unit, Governor’s Office (2007-2015); Director Administration & Human Resources, Ministry of Energy & Mineral Resources (2015-2017) and Acting Permanent Secretary (February – June 2017).

Until date, she has been the Acting Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources. From the commencement of her career in the State civil service in 1983, Mrs. Ogunbanke has demonstrated an impeccable quest for excellence and an unusual drive as a goal getter.  Rising through the ranks, she was exposed to many aspects of the civil service operations including Administration, Planning, Budgeting, Monitoring and Evaluation, etc.  Indeed, she played a critical role in shaping planning and budgeting and was a household name in the new outlook of monitoring and evaluation in Lagos State.  In all of these roles, she has always demonstrated dogged diligence, loyalty and character.  She has proven in many ways to be an astute administrator and a stickler for details.  She exudes infectious energy and passion in confronting each responsibility. Her style is truly unique!

Resulting from the above, Mrs. Ogunbanke has earned many recognitions as an upright, dutiful and impactful Civil Servant, committed to excellent service delivery with dexterity in the effective management of stakeholders.  Outside the Civil Service work, Mrs. Ogunbanke pitches her tent with the youth; mentoring and guiding them, and in recognition of her contribution, she was invested as a State and National Patroness of the Nigerian Boys Brigade.  She is a member of many professional associations including Nigerian Institute of Management; Nigerian Economic Society; Institute of Public Administration of Nigeria; Nigeria Bar Association and an associate member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitration.

For many, Mrs. Ogunbanke is a mentor and role-model. And she is surely mother to many more than the three children that she has been blessed with. She is a truly distinct woman of noble character, who is disciplined, principled, yet tender-hearted and kind.
