Lagos State Head of Service (HoS), Mr. Hakeem Muri-Okunola has reiterated the present administration’s commitment to continuous capacity development of its workforce, through training and re-training, in order to develop thoroughbred officers who are competent, versatile and relevant to the present and future needs of the State.

The HoS disclosed this in his address at the opening ceremony of a two-day retreat organised by the Public Service Office, Office of the Head of Service, for Directors of Administration and Human Resource in the Lagos State Public Service, at the Lagos Continental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Speaking on the theme of the retreat, “Principles, Policies, Practices and Procedures of Human Resource Management in the Public Service: A thorough Look at the Workplace in Current Realities”, Muri-Okunola said it is apt given the current realities and the vital roles of Directors of Administration and Human Resource in policy-making, strategic planning and policy implementation.

The Head of Service acknowledged the enormous support of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his Deputy, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat to the entire public servants in the State, particularly in the area of capacity training and conducive environment for work which, according to him, has enhanced effective and efficient service delivery of the workforce in Lagos State.
