HEALTH SECTOR REFORM: LASG ANNOUNCES DEPLOYMENT OF NEWLY APPOINTED PERMANENT SECRETARIES
Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, the Governor of Lagos State, in line with the Health Sector reform of the present administration, which necessitated the creation of six Health Districts under the Lagos State Primary Health Care Board, recently approved the appointment of seven new Permanent Secretaries in the State Public Service.
A statement signed by the Lagos State Head of Service, Mr. Hakeem Muri-Okunola listed the new appointees as Dr. Mabogunje, Cecilia Abimbola, former Consultant Special Grade I, Health Service Commission; Dr. Bankole, Olufunmilayo Olabisi, former Consultant Special Grade I, Ministry of Health and Dr. Zamba, Olutoyin Emmanuella, former Chief Medical Officer/General Manager, Lagos State Health Management Agency.
He listed others as Dr. Bowale, Abimbola, former Chief Medical Officer, Health Service Commission; Dr. Lajide, Oludayo Ibidunni, former Chief Dental Officer, Ministry of Health; Dr. Adeleke, Monsurat, former Chief Medical Officer/Chief Executive Officer, Lagos State Aids Control Agency and Dr. Asiyanbi, Oladapo Olubanwo, former Chief Medical Officer, Primary Health Care Board.
The HOS added that, consequently, Mr. Governor has approved the deployment of the newly appointed Permanent Secretaries as follows; Dr. Mabogunje, Cecilia Abimbola, Permanent Secretary of Primary Healthcare District VI; Dr. Bankole, Olufunmilayo Olabisi, Permanent Secretary of Primary Healthcare District I and Dr. Zamba, Olutoyin Emmanuella, Permanent Secretary of Lagos State Health Management Agency (LASHMA)
“Dr. Bowale, Abimbola, Permanent Secretary of Primary Healthcare District IV; Dr. Lajide, Oludayo Ibidunni, Permanent Secretary of Primary Healthcare District II; Dr. Adeleke, Monsurat, Permanent Secretary of Primary Healthcare District III and Dr. Asiyanbi, Oladapo Olubanwo, Permanent Secretary of Primary Healthcare District V”, he noted.
Wishing the appointees a successful tenure in Office, Muri-Okunola emphasised that the appointments take effect from 10th July, 2023, while their deployment is with immediate effect. He also urged the appointees to prepare and leave a detailed handover note with the most senior Director of their previous MDAs.
