Adebopo Oyekan – Ismaila Mrs– DIRECTOR, SERVICE MATTERS.

Adebopo Oyekan – Ismaila was born to the royal families of Late Oba Adeyinka Kusanu Oyekan II and Olori AbioyeOyekan (nee David Ajasa Ogunlana, Obanikoro) both of Isale– Eko, Lagos Island on 14th November, 1967 at the Island Maternity, Lagos.

She attended Ireti Nursery & Primary School Ikoyi (1970- 1978) for her primary education and later went to Government College, Ikorodu for her secondary education between 1979 and 1983. She was at the Federal Arts and Science School, Victoria – Island for a remedial course, from where she became a Pioneer student at the Lagos State University, (LASU), Ojo between 1984 and 1988, and bagged a Second Class upper degree in B.Sc. Political Science.

She heeded the national call and served at the National Television Authority (NTA), Ogbe, Abeokuta in Ogun State between 1988 & 1989. Bopo’s penchant for knowledge drove her to the University of Lagos, Akoka, where she obtained a Masters degree in International Law & Diplomacy (MILD) in 1991 and Masters in Political Science (M.Sc) with Distinction in Y2007.

She worked in the private sector in organisations such as theEko International Bank (now Polaris) between 1990 and 1992. She was a Director at Al – Amin consulting, King and Queen Insurance Co. Limited, TWL Nigeria Limited and many others. She was a political consultant, part time lecturer amongst other volunteer assignments.

Princess, as she is being called since joining the Lagos State Civil Service in July 2010, has worked in various MDAs, where she has significantly impacted lives, and she is driven by passion for excellence and love for mankind. She is adevout muslim, who strongly believes that collectively, the Greater Lagos Dream is achievable when each and every one contributes his /her quota to the development of the State.

She is a member of the LASU Pioneer Alumni Association, Member of the Nigerian Institute of Management, Member of the Nigerian Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, a Trainee Life Coach and an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management.

Her dedication, integrity, loyalty, transformational leadership and consistent hard work was recognised, which led to her elevation as the Director, Service Matters in the Public Service Office/ Office of the Head of Service on Friday, 9thSeptember 2022. She is happily married with children.
