LASG COMMENDS HEALTHCARE WORKERS ON SERVICE DELIVERY


Lagos State Head of Service, Mr, Bode Agoro has commended Medical Officers in the State Health Sector for their dedication, commitment and diligence to service delivery, just as he assured them of the continued support of the Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s administration to the healthcare sector, particularly the primary healthcare system.


Agoro gave the commendation in his address at the closing ceremony of a two-day retreat organised by the Lagos Health District I for its officers with the theme, “Building Our Team Towards Improving Quality Care in Our Facilities” held recently at Amber Residence, GRA, Ikeja.


He said the renewed commitment of the present  administration in ensuring effective and efficient management of the primary health care system in Lagos State necessitated the establishment of the primary health care districts across the divisions of Lagos State in line with the intent to provide more access to primary health care for residents of the State.


The HOS stressed further that the present administration shall continually train and retrain its workforce to improve their knowledge and enhance their service delivery, adding that Governor Sanwo-Olu is passionate about improving the capability of all staff.


Earlier in her remarks, the Permanent Secretary, Health District II, Dr. ((Mrs) Lajide Oludayo, noted that the training was organised to ensure that the participants understand the overall goal of delivering improved and sustainable health care to the residents in Lagos health district II, as part of the efforts towards achieving universal health care.


She added that the major focus is to develop a sustainable primary health care system, where the disease burden is reduced to the barest minimum and quality of life is enhanced.
