LAGOS HOS TO PARTNER PROFESSIONAL INSTITUTIONS ON CAREER DEVELOPMENT FOR PUBLIC SERVANTS
The Lagos State Head of Service, Mr Bode Agoro on Friday reiterated his commitment to collaborating with Professional Institutions in the area of professionalism and career development for civil servants to enhance the State Public Service.
He said the Lagos State Public Service, through his office, is willing to ensure that there is cooperation among the professional institutions who are ready to partner and collaborate with the State Government on improving the State Public Service.
Agoro stated this during a courtesy visit by the President, Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers, ESV Johnbull Amayaevbo and National Treasurer, Chartered Institute of Personnel Management, Mrs. Ogochukwu Egbuonu to his office at the Secretariat Alausa-Ikeja.
Agoro said he is proud of the members of the two professional bodies with the way they present themselves adding that they are exceptional officers that make the institution proud.
He maintained that the Human Resource Officers in the Lagos State Public Service are the engine room of the service just as many of them are also good ambassadors for the Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM).
The HOS commended the President, Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers and the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management for taking the bar higher, noting that their passion for the institutions had engendered new ideas.
Speaking earlier, the President, Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers, ESV Johnbull Amayaevbo said their visit was based on the continuation of the efforts of the leadership of the Institution to engender a more cordial relationship between the Institution and Government through its Ministries and Agencies.
He applauded the Head of Service, Mr. Bode Agoro for the high esteem in which he holds the profession, just as he recognised the important roles of the Institution as a critical stakeholder with the State Government.
The National Treasurer, Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM), Mrs. Ogochukwu Egbuonu noted that they are readily available to support the Head of Service in ensuring that he excels in his new appointment.
Also present during the visit are the Permanent Secretary, Public Service Office, Mrs. Sunkanmi Oyegbola, the Principal Private Secretary to the Head of Service, Mr. Bola Adeyiga and the Executive Assistant to the Head of Service, Mrs. Doyinsola Gasper-Johnson.
